Granted, I have not traveled much in my short 23 years of life, but hands down, my favorite place of all time is a little place in La Romana, Dominican Republic called Altos de Chavon, otherwise known as the stone city. Altos de Chavon is a re-creation of a Mediterranean style European village that sits atop Chavon River in the City of La Romana. It is a gorgeous city that is made completely of stone. The city is very much populated with clubs, restaurants/bars, stores, churches, small apartments, etc. Not only is the craftsmanship of the buildings beautiful, the view of the river is just as breathtaking.
It is so great to learn about (and see) new places in these posts, Gina, and Altos de Chavon is new to me. Wonderful! I hope you will get to go back there again sometime to make a return visit.
